Job Corps

Job Corps is a U.S federal government-funded program that provides free-of-charge education and vocational training to young men and women aged 16 to 24. Founded in 1964 as a part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty, its mission is to establish a rigorous and demanding career development environment that helps disadvantaged and eligible youth become responsible and independent adults. The program, administratively placed under the U.S. Department of Labor, operates more than 120 Job Corps centers throughout the U.S., including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
